Maths - Today we would like you to complete one or both of the addition sheets attached below. One sheet is addition to 10 and the other sheet is addition to 20. You can choose which one you would like to do. If you can't print this sheet, you can complete some addition claculations in your home learning books.
PSED - You have been thinking this week about things that you are good at and why. Have a talk with the others members in your family and see if they can say what they are good at and why.

Literacy - We would like you to have a go at that this minibeast quiz. Can you guess the correct minibeast from the clues?
We would now like you to complete one more page in your minibeast fact book.
Maths - Today we have attached lots of different maths challenges to complete which are linked to minibeasts. Have a go at working these out in your home learning books.
RE - We are continuing our unit on 'What makes people specail?' We would like you to read through the powerpoint of Jesus heals Paralysed Man.
Please have a go at sequencing the stroy using the attached cards. If it not possible to print these cards talk to an adult about the story and think about what happened at the beginning, middle and the end.

Literacy - Today we would like you to have a look at the powerpoint linked below. Can you guess the insect the person is looking at? How did you know it was that insect?
Now you have had a look at different minibeasts we would like you to complete the next part of your minibeast booklet.
Maths - This work is the last part of the addition work this week where you will be adding groups of insects together to find the answer. Don't forget to write the calculation underneath.
PSED - Draw a picture of something you are good at. Explain your drawing to a family member and tell them why you are good at.
Science - Watch the video clips which are linked below. Describe to an adult about where particular minibeasts live, why they live there, what they like to eat etc...

Literacy - Today we would like you to play the 'What Am I' powerpoint game where you need to guess what insect is being described by the clues. Good Luck!
Now we would like you to complete the first page of the minibeast booklet. You decorated the front cover yesterday. We would like you to write a fact about one of the minibeasts and decorate the page.
Maths - This work is a continuation of the work you completed yesterday where you were adding the groups of insects together. Don't forget to write the calculation underneath.
Science - For this activity we would like the children to sort the minibeasts into two categories - ones with legs and ones without.
If you can't print this sheet please draw the pictures straight into your home learning books.

We hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend!
Literacy - Today we are starting to learn the last sounds on the basic code and these are called trigraphs. That means 3 letters together making one sound. They are the orange sounds on your basic code. Today we are learning the trigraph 'igh' for example n - igh - t or s - igh - t.
Please have a go at completing the worksheet attached. If you are unable to print this out, just complete it in your home learning books.
Maths - This week are going to be looking at addition. We will be adding two groups of insects together and finding the total. Please have a go at writing the calcultion yourself underneath for example 3 + 2 = 5
If you are unable to print the sheet please complete in your hime learning books.
PSED - Please talk to an adult about the things you are good at. It would be good to know what you have said in your conversations.
Creative - Through out this week we are going to be completing a minibeast fact book. Please colour in the front of the booklet ready to complete the work tomorrow. If you are unable to print the booklet please feel free to make your own. We will be writing a fact about insect through out the week.

It is so lovely to see so many different activities you have all be doing linked to the work we have set this week. It looks like you are all enjoying the work on the lifecycle of a frog.
Literacy - Today we would like you to have a go at writing simple sentences about the lifecycle of a frog. We have attached a sheet to help you but you can also complete this work in your home learning book too.
Phonics - We have been learning the 'er' sound this week. See if you can sound out and spell the 'er' words on the attached sheet and write a senntence with one of these words in. If you can't print the sheet you can complete this work in your home learning book.
RE - Continuing our unit ' What makes people special?' see if you can draw or paint a picture of someone who is a role model. For example a worker in the NHS, a Teacher, your mum and dad you can decide. Have fun and we would love to see your finished pictures.

Literacy - For literacy today we will be learning all about the sound 'er'. See if you can find this sound on the basic code and think of some words with this sound in. PE - For PE today we have attached a link to a youtube site called Cosmic kids Yoga. Follow the link and this will lead you to the front page. Choose one of the clips to follow and complete activities.
Maths - For maths today we would like you to complete the subtraction calculations and colour in the butterfly the correct colour. If you can't print this sheet complete the calculaions in your book. You can use apparatus to help you such as beads, cubes or pencils.

Literacy - This week you have been learning the diagraph oi. Have a look at the pictures on the sheet and see if you can say the word to an adult. Can you now try to spell this word by chopping and blending the word. For eaxmple coin c - oi -n.
See if you can write the word underneath each picture. If you can't print this sheet just write the words into your home school book and see if you can draw a picture by the side.
Science - Guess who?. See if you can read the description cards and guess which insect is being described.
Reflection Time - Talk to an adult about your favourite piece of work you have completed this week. What was it and why do you like it?

Literacy - Today for your literacy task we would like you to read the stroy 'The Cautious Caterpillar.' Once you have read the stroy talk to an adult and tell them your favourite bit. What insects were there in the story? How was the caterpillar feeling?
We would also like you to write a sentence about the story. Don't forget to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops or you could draw your favourite insect and label it. Please use the sheet provided or complete this work in your home learning book.
Maths - We would like you to continue your work on patterns and complete the patterns on the Very Hungry Caterpillar sheet. If you can not print this sheet please draw some of your own caterpillars in your home learning book and make different patterns.
RE - This week we are continuing our unit on ' What makes people special?' by thinking about our friends. We have attached a sheet to help but you may want to draw your own picture. The sheet has space for one friend but you may like to draw more than one and that is fine. Please write the name of your friend or friends and a word describe why they are special.

Maths - We would like you to continue your work on pattern making. We have attached two sheets to complete today. They both have a butterfly on and we would like you to complete the symmetrical pattern. Remember that symmetrical means the pattern needs to be the same on both sides. If you can't print this sheet see if you can draw your own butterfly and it's symmetrical patterns in your book.
Literacy - Todays activity is all about sounding out words with the 'oi' sound in. If you can't print this sheet please write the words in your home school book.
There are four words which do not have the oi sound, can you work out which ones they are?
Art - Time to get creative again. See if you can make your own symmetrical butterfly patterns by painting on one side of the paper and folding it in half. What patterns have you made? Don't forget to send us a photo, we would love to see your creations!

Literacy - In our Literacy lesson today we would like you do read through the story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar.' Whilst you are reading the story try and remember the different types of food the caterpillar ate through.
For your task we would like you to write a list of some of the foods the caterpillar ate. We have attached a sheet if you would like to use this, or you can complete this work straight into you home learning book.
Maths - This week we will be continuing our work on patterns by looking at repeating patterns. We have a attached a sheet to complete which involves completing the repeating patterns but you also do this with the items you have at home.
Science - In this lesson we will be looking at the life cycle of a butterfly. You might want to read the story 'The Hungry Caterpillar' again and talk about the different stages of the caterpillars development.
We have attached a sheet to help you complete the life cycle of a butterfly but this can also be completed in your home school books.

Literacy - Using your knowledge of ow words we would like you to complete this sheet by chopping (sounding out) and blending the words to work out the sounds for each word. For eaxmple ow - l, c-ow, g-ow-n. There are three levels so choose which one suits you best. If you can't print this sheet please do the work straight into your home learning book.
There are three words that don't have the ow sound, can you work out which ones? (The answer sheet is at the end if you get stuck)
Maths - For your maths activity today we would like you to complete one of the attached sheets. You need to add the numbers together and then colour the part of the minibeast the correct colour. There are three levels addition to 10, addition to 20 or addition to 30. Please choose the level that is right for you.
If you can't print off this sheet see if you can write some of the addition calculations into your hom learning book and work out the correct answers.

Maths - This week we will be looking at making simple patterns and repeating patterns. This activity is a practical activty where we would like you to find ojects to make patterns with. For example you could use beads, coins, socks, building blocks, buttons, crayons or pencil crayons.
Take a photo of you with your patterns and send them to your class email address, we would love to see what patterns you have created!
Phonics - This week we are learning the diagraph ow. We have attached a sheet to complete but you can complete this work straight into your home learning book too. Practice forming the letters correctly and see if you can write a few words with the ow sound in. For example cow, owl, crown, clown, growl
Art - After your minibeast hunt yesterday we would like you to draw your favourite minibeast and tell an adult why you have choosen to draw this insect. What is it you like about this insect? Why is it your favourite? What does it look like? How many legs does it have?

Literacy - In literacy today the children will be spotting the words that have the 'ur' sound in and underlining the words. They may need help to read the text but please see if your child can sound out some of the 'ur' words themselves. If you can't print this sheet please sound out the 'ur' words and write them in a list in the home learning book.
Maths - In maths, to finish our work on time, the children will be looking at the months of the year and placing these in order. You can either use the sheet provided and stick them in your home learning book or write them and draw a little picture to represent each month by the side.
PE - See haow many of the different activities you can do in 30 seconds. Record how you got on in your home learning book.

Literacy - For the literacy task today the children will be sounding out and writing different 'ur' words. The children will be able to show you how we chop (with robot arms) and blend the words back together. The children then use one of the words to write a sentence, for example I am hurt or I can surf.
Easter Craft - The children can design their own Easter bonnet using the template below. If you would like to make your own feel free! You could even make your bonnet if you have the resources. Please send in your photos of you completing this craft work and your finished designs.

Literacy - Please complete one of the worsheets which are attached. There are 3 different challenge levels so you can choose! The work is all about sounding out different 'ur' words by chopping and blending. The children will know about using their 'robot arms' to chop up the sounds and blend them back to together to say the word. For example church - ch - ur - ch or burn - b - ur - n.
PS - there are two words on the sheet that don't have the ur sound in them - can you work out which they are?

Maths - Following on from your work yesterday on sorting activities which are completed at different times, we are moving on to think about the days of the week and ordering these.
There is also a challege to complete with this work aswell where the children can think about the day name which is yesterday or tomorrow. Have a look at the sheet and it will be alot clearer, it is hard to explain but once you see it you will understand.

Literacy - In literacy today we would like the children to continue their work on writing sentences. As you are aware the children have been learning to write sentences, each week they have been writing the sentence I can see....
Please can you remind your child that a sentence needs a capital letter at the beginning, finger spaces between each word and a full stop at the end. Please look at the picture below and play a game of 'I Spy'. Next encourage your child to say what they can see in a sentence, for example I can see a bee.
The children then need to write these sentences in their home learning books.
Phonics - This week the children will be learning all about the diagraph 'ur'. Please have a look the basic code and find this phoneme and also recap over the other sounds we have learnt. Using the worksheet as a template, the children need to practice writing this diagraph. Then completing the sheet they need to idenify which words have the 'ur' sound in them (turtle, surf and church - not fork as that was last weeks diagraph!)
Easter Cards - We would like the children to make an Easter card for their family. We have attached some templates that could be used but if you have your own ideas, please use those too. This card can be your own creation!
We would love to see the different creations so please send photos in using the class email address and we will post these on the Year R School Events page. Have fun creating!

Please find attached the work for today but please don't forget to spend time out in the garden, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and taking the time to exercise too!
Literacy - This work is all about sounding out the different words which have the 'or' diagraph in. The children should know exactly what to do with this sheet has we have completed different ones of these as we have learnt different letter sounds. The children need to say the word, sound it out (chopping it up using their robot arms) and then blend it back together. The children then write the down the different letter sounds for each word.
Maths - The sheet attached is a continuation of the work that your child would have completed yesterday. If you would like to challenge yourself this sheet also has quarter to and quarter past times to complete but please only do these if your child is secure with o'clock and half past times.

Reading: Please remember to share books at home by reading together and asking questions about the story that has been read. Attached below is a link to the e story 'The Cautious Caterpillar'. As you are reading through the story stop at 3 letter words and see if your child can chop and blend these words in order to read them. For example big = b-i-g.
Maths Activity: Following on from the previous work completed on time the children will need to place the hands on the clocks to show the different times. They will also be writing the times in words, looking at the hands which are on the clocks. Such as 1 O'Clock, half past 2 etc...
Literacy Activity: Following on from the sentence writing the children will have completed on Monday, today the children need to arrange the sentence in the correct order and write the sentence down. The children will need to think about the structure of a sentence for example placing the word starting with the capital letter first. Place finger spaces between the words and a full stop needs to be at the end to show the end of the sentence.
We have also added some Spring colouring sheets which the children really enjoy completing in the class.

Maths activity: Recap over the powerpoint from yesterday to remind yourself about how to tell the time and what the different hands on a clock represent. Play this game and see if you can tell the diferent times as you land on them and see who wins!
