The Integrated Subjects segment of our curriculum focuses on using a number of different subjects to explore a topic overview. Within each subject, the skills are taught discretely with the lesson focusing on building the children’s subject knowledge and the skill that will support them in transferring this knowledge to other aspects of the curriculum.
The subjects that are taught are called a “phase”. The children will work through each phase until they have learnt all the required knowledge and skills. At the end of the topic, there is an opportunity to apply the taught skills and knowledge that demonstrates whether a child has mastered the learning
- To inspire children’s curiosity and fascination about the world, its people and cultures, historical events and the arts.
- A fluidity of core and foundation subjects will provide children with essential skills that they will then extract and apply to meaningful cross-curricular activities.
- To support children in the development of their sense of identity and where they fit in the world.
